So, I’m finally getting around to cleaning off all the crap that’s accumulated on the hard drive - there’s just an incredible amount of duplicate files and the like. I haven’t had the time or the inclination to do it but, now that I have the laptop set up the right way, it’s part of my drive to be more organized.

One of the things I came across was a cache file I saved. It was something I vaguely remember saving from not too long ago. A browser cache file when I launched it in my browser it threw up a window with a directory of files on my drive - now I’m getting nervous. The file was a nifty little javascript that made it possible to browse through the drive pretty thoroughly. I’m actually glad to have a dial up connection at this moment.

So, I saved the javascript and the file and started diggin around on the drive. I’m pretty sure it came off the older machine I mainly use for surfing but, I guess it’s time to do some disk maintenance. Back in the day I was fairly vigilant about that kind of stuff but lately I’ve become more like a windows user.

I’ll also have to go digging for invisible files too now. Stuff like this is one of the reasons I worry about upgrading to X since I’m not as familiar with the UNIX heirarchy and trashing files can be a disasterous thing.
